About Us
The Churches
St.
Bartholomew's is the parish's oldest church, built in the late 16th century.
Most of the services are traditional with an organ and choir. There are
facilities for pre-school children and the Kingdom Kids group for primary school
aged children.
St.
Alban's is a modern church built in the 1960s. Most of the services that take
place are lively and are suitable for families. There is also a shorter, family
service, each month with drama and no communion. There is children's work during
the service and a creche room.
The Clergy
I'm Peter, I'm the vicar of Blurton Parish, and have been for longer than I really want to think about! I am also a UKCPreg Psychotherapist. I love walking in the Lakes, and Wales, and do so whenever I can. I enjoy cooking and am a fan of Madhur Jaffrey. I am an armchair rugby fan, and think England did brilliantly at the World cup in 2007. As a family we have a labrador, whom we care for dearly, except when she is chewing the house to bits. You would be very welcome to our parish, do introduce yourself to us.
